Tania Tyles Dempsey, MD, ABIHM

Presentation: Mast Cell Activation Syndrome and Chemical Intolerance: Root Causes or Drivers of Breast Implant Illness?

Biography:

Dr. Tania Dempsey, MD, ABIHM is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Integrative
and Holistic Medicine. She received her MD degree from The Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine and her BS degree from Cornell University. She completed her
Internal Medicine Residency at New York University Medical Center. She is currently a
community staff member of Greenwich Hospital in Connecticut.
In 2011, she founded her own Integrative Medicine Practice which has evolved into the
AIM Center for Personalized Medicine, a destination Medical Center in Purchase, NY,
focusing on complex, multi-system diseases. Dr. Dempsey is a leading expert in Mast
Cell Activation Syndrome, Dysautonomia, ME/CFS, Tick-Borne Infections and
Autoimmunity. She is a member of the U.S. ME/CFS Clinician Coalition and ILADS
(International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society). She is a frequent presenter at
the ILADS annual conferences and is a new faculty member of their Vector-Borne
Infection Fundamentals course, where she presented the latest research on Bartonella
in September 2022. She is an accomplished international speaker and writer and has
been featured on Fox 5 NY News, Reader's Digest, Huffington Post, The Observer, The
NY Post, and countless other media outlets. Dr. Dempsey is the co-author of the chapter
on “Urogynecology and Hypermobility” in the 2020 book, Disjointed. She recently co-
authored several ground-breaking articles in the medical literature, including Myalgic
Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome: Essentials of Diagnosis and Management,
and the review article “Diagnosis of mast cell activation syndrome: a global " consensus-
2". She was involved in a research study in collaboration with the TILT team at
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio which led to the publication:
Mast cell activation may explain many cases of chemical intolerance. Her most recent
paper from January 2022 is titled “Post-HPV-Vaccination Mast Cell Activation Syndrome:
Possible Vaccine-Triggered Escalation of Undiagnosed Pre-Existing Mast Cell Disease?”.
