Presentation: Understanding Breast Implant Illness From the Perspective of Mast Cell Activation Syndrome

Biography:

Dr. Tania Dempsey, MD, ABIHM is Board-Certified in Internal Medicine and Integrative and Holistic Medicine. She received her MD degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and her BS degree from Cornell University.   She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at New York University Medical Center. She is currently a community staff member of Greenwich Hospital in Greenwich, CT.

 

In 2011, she founded Armonk Integrative Medicine (AIM) which has evolved into the AIM Center for Personalized Medicine, a destination practice in Purchase, NY, focusing on complex, multi-system diseases. Dr. Dempsey is an expert in Mast Cell Activation Syndrome, Dysautonomia, ME/CFS (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome), Tick-Borne Infections and Autoimmunity.  She is an accomplished international speaker and writer and was the Keynote Speaker in 2018 at the International Congress on Natural Medicine in Melbourne, Australia.  She has been featured on Fox 5 NY News, Reader's Digest, Huffington Post, The Observer, The NY Post and countless other media outlets. She is the co-author of the chapter on “Urogynecology and Hypermobility” in the newly released book, Disjointed Navigating the Diagnosis and Management of hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders.  She was also a co-author on the ground-breaking review article published in Diagnosis, in April 2020, titled “Diagnosis of mast cell activation syndrome: a global "consensus-2" and on a publication in 2019 titled “Successful mast-cell-targeted treatment of chronic dyspareunia, vaginitis, and dysfunctional uterine bleeding”.  She is a member of the U.S. ME/CFS Clinician Coalition and is actively involved in their Infection Workgroup subcommittee. She is also a member of ILADS, International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society and presented at their 21 Annual Scientific Conference in September, 2020, on Mast Cell Targeted Treatment in Patients with Tick-borne infections, MCAS and COVID-19
